Bryophytes:
Simple Search (using names, scientific or common)
The
Bryophytes collection holds approximately 3000 specimens. The
collection has grown by the acquisition of the private herbarium
of the late Antoni Damman. This collection is particularly rich
in Sphagnum specimens, collected in the Americas, Europe
and Asia. The bryophyte herbarium continues to acquire specimens
through field collections, exchanges mediated by the American
Bryological and Lichenological Society and through direct exchanges
with other institutions. Current research on Bryophytes focuses
on the Orthotrichaceae, Splachnaceae, Bryoxiphiaceae and Timmiaceae,
as well as the Aneuraceae (Marchantiophyta).
